Corporations Data Extract Download
Change Log - 10/02/2018 - 12:40 P.M.
- A number of business records were previously missing due to reliance on registered agent data always being present. For some few entities, such as banks, or in the case of more common entities, if a registered agent has resigned, there will be no registered agent information and the data extract will now return the business record with a NULL value instead. Please make sure your system can handle NULL values when making use of the data extract. We will put this change in place on or about Oct. 9, 2018 to give customers an opportunity to modify their process to account for the new NULL data fields.

You can download an entire extract of the corporations search database in Text or XML format by clicking the links below. The data is provided for use in custom searches, mash-ups and other purposes as desired. For quicker download, the file has been compressed in ZIP format. Data extracted is extracted nightly to reflect the changes made in the previous 24 hours.
Heads Up
There has been a 4th File added to the data extract ! It is called the Business Information File which contains more information regarding a business registered in Washington State. Please Scroll below to see what Columns have been included in this new file. **Note it is possible this changes the first few weeks of the file being published**
Files are updated once per day at approximately 2:00 A.M.
The Zip folders contain 4 files. Each file contains a UBI reference so your applications may tie up the data as you see fit
- GoverningPersons.(txt,xml,json) which is a list of governing persons for each entity
- DocumentTypes.(txt,xml,json) which is all documents filed against a corporations
- Corporations.(txt,xml,json) which contains basic corporation information as well as information on their respective Registered Agent.
- BusinessInfo.(txt,xml,json) which contains more detailed corporation information such as address, phone numbers and email.
Because the files are so large, it is recommended that you use software that can import large amounts of data. Excel or other spreadsheet software generally will not work. It is recommended that you use desktop database software (such as Access) or an enterprise database server solution (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)

The following is an explanation of the elements/fields found within the files. Please note, all of these fields are NULLABLE. If a business begins its filing process and stops half way through it will exist in these files but may not have a UBI. If it does not have a UBI it was never an officially registered entity.
Corporations File
UBI - Washington State Unified Business Identifier
Business Name - Legal name as record with OSOS
Record StatusThe status of a business (Active, Administratively Dissolved, Inactive, Dissolved
Category - Type of entity structure, corporations are labeled as REG whether profit or non-profit
State Of Incorporation - The state of origination
Date Of Incorporation - The date the entity filed with OSOS
Expiration Date - The date the most recent annual report is/was due
Dissolution Date - The date the entity was dissolved if applicable
Duration - Duration of an entity specified in Datetime if it exist.
Type - Indicates whether the entity is a profit or non-profit
Type Description - Tells what Business Type an Entity is (WA Limitied Liability Copmany, WA Public Benefit, Ect.)
Registered Agent Name - The name of the registered agent i.e. contact person
Registered Agent Address - The physical address of the registered agent
Registered Agent City - The city in which the Agent Address is located
Registered Agent State - The state in which the Agent Address is located
Registered Agent Zip - The zip code for the Agent Address
Governors File
UBI - The UBI a Governor is tied to
Governing Person Title - The title (president, vice-president, member, etc.) of the person listed as a Governing person
Governing Person First Name - The first name of the Governing Person
Governing Person Middle Name - The middle name of the Governing Person
Governing Person Last Name - The last name of the Governing Person
Governing Person Address - The address for the Governing Person
Governing Person City - The city in which the Governing Person Address is located
Governing Person State - The state in which the Governing Person Address is located
Governing Person Zip - The zip code for the Governing Person Address
Documents File
UBI - The UBI a Document is tied to
Completed Date - The Datetime a document was completed
Description - The Type of Document

UBI - The UBI tied to the Business Entity (May be NULL if never completed an initial report or never registered with SOS)
Business Name - The Business name of the Entity
Email Address - The Email Address of the business (might be customer support, founder's email, or Registered Agent
Phone Number - The Phone Number of the Business
Physical Address Line 1 - The Physical Address Line 1 (most commonly used)
Physical Address Line 2 - The Physical Address Line 1 (used for Suites, PO boxes, ect.)
Physical Address Line 3 - The Physical Address Line 1 (Might be used for rural areas or additional PO box information)
Physical City - The City to the Physical Address
Physical State - The State to the Physical Address
Physical Country - The Country of the Physical Address
Physical Zip5 - The First 5 digits of the postal code to the Physical Address
Physical Zip4 - The geographic identifier 4 digits of the postal code to the Physical Address
Mailing Address Line 1 - The Mailing Address Line 1 (most commonly used)
Mailing Address Line 2 - The Mailing Address Line 1 (used for Suites, PO boxes, ect.)
