Legacy Washington Events
Join Legacy Washington and the Office of the Secretary of State on Valentine’s Day for the opening of our
Love, Equally
exhibit!
Our celebration begins in the State Reception Room at 3 PM with a performance by
The Supertonics
, featuring members of the Seattle Women’s Chorus and Seattle Men’s Chorus. A fantastic lineup of speakers—Governor Jay Inslee, Secretary of State Steve Hobbs, Speaker of the House Laurie Jinkins, Senator Jamie Pedersen, former Governor Chris Gregoire, WA LGBTQ Commission Executive Director Manny Santiago, and marriage historian Stephanie Coontz—will then take the podium to reflect on marriage equality in the Evergreen State.
Upon conclusion, accompany us to the Secretary of State’s office for exhibit viewing and a reception. Light refreshments will be provided.
The
Love, Equally
book will be available for purchase ($30) during the event.
The event ends at 5 PM so you can still enjoy the evening with your valentine!
